## Near Margalit

### Vice President and General Manager, Optical Systems Division

Near Margalit is the Vice President and General Manager of the Optical Systems Division at Broadcom and has been with the team since 2018. In his role, he is responsible for spearheading and bringing to market the next generation of Silicon Photonics and Co-Packaged Optics to the industry. He’s held several executive positions in the optical connectivity industry, with highlights including CTO and Head of Product Development for Intel’s Silicon Photonics team from 2015-2016, CEO of Source Photonics from 2002 to 2013, and Founder/CEO of Zaffire Inc. He holds a Ph.D in Optoelectronics from UC Santa Barbara and a B.S. in Applied Physics from CalTech.
